REBEL SOULS

HISTORY

Rebel Souls is a death metal project originally hailing from Thuringia, Germany, that was founded in 2000 by then 17-year old Thomas Plewnia and Stefan Hielscher, aiming to produce fast and raw death metal in the vein of Vader, Vomitory or Krisiun.

Between 2000 and 2003 the band was active in its local underground, before a series of circumstances forced the band to put all activities on hold until late 2013, when the band was reactivated. For the recording of their debut record “The Forces of Darkness”, which was recorded, mixed and mastered at Wave Nation Recording Studios in Ronda, Spain, Rebel Souls were able to bring current Vader drummer James Stewart as session artist on board. “The Forces of Darkness” is a powerful 8-track album, delivering relentless and straightforward death metal with hints of thrash and black metal, full of razor-sharp tremolo picking, bludgeoning riffs, sinister melodies, brutal growls and merciless blast beats. It was released worldwide in February 2017 through Art Gates Records.

In early 2018, Rebel Souls embarked on a European tour with Noctem and Martyrium, as well as a tour through Germany with Grabak and Invoker in order to present “The Forces of Darkness” live.
