Italian modern metal force 5RAND release the official video for “Double Bind”, taken from their latest album “Ordhalia” (out November 28th, 2025 via Art Gates Records).
Written and performed by vocalist Julia Elenoir — psychologist, psychotherapist and songwriter — the track transforms a complex psychological reality into something painfully tangible. A double bind is a mental trap: when every option carries conflict, when silence hurts and speaking hurts more.
5RAND channel that tension into sharp modern metal aggression, layered atmospheres and emotional weight. Recorded and mixed by Marco Mastrobuono at Bloom Recording Studios and mastered by Jens Bogren at Fascination Street Studios (Sweden), the song cuts deep without losing clarity.
The video, directed and produced by Kinorama Studios, goes beyond metaphor. It portrays Julia’s real psychotherapy journey — a confrontation with buried truths, fragile memories and the uncomfortable process of facing oneself.
“Double Bind” exposes the fracture and dares you to look at it.
Because sometimes, breaking the cycle starts with naming it.
