Finnish melodic death metal band Arctora summon the storm with The Hour of Storms, out today alongside its official music video. The second single from their upcoming album, Dressed In Golden Sunlight, offers another glimpse of what awaits on December 4, 2026, via Art Gates Records.
At the heart of the song lies a question of responsibility: what happens when gods entrust an imperfect species with the care of all life?
The band explain:
“The song tells a story about the gods appointing us as the watchers of all beings on this earth, but leaving us woefully ill-prepared for such a monumental task.
We are mortal and erring, and the pantheon had to be aware of this. In the end, they are responsible for our imperfections. We are not divine.”
The Hour of Storms turns that conflict into a call to break the chains, confronting the distance between humanity’s appointed role as guardian and the suffering it chooses to ignore.
The official music video was created by Teppo Ristola, while the track was mixed and mastered by Wolfthrone Studios. Niko Kauhanen and Joel Notkonen handle vocals, with Notkonen also providing guitars and orchestrations, joined by Tommi Tuhkala on drums and Jere Halonen on bass.
To celebrate the upcoming album, Arctora have unveiled a series of exclusive pre-order packs featuring items available only during the pre-order period. Once pre-orders close, these exclusive items will no longer be available—secure your pack before the storm passes!
