Basque metalcore/alternative metal band Lotura takes a step forward with their powerful new single “Terminus”, a track that delves into depression and the fear of its impact not only on oneself, but also on loved ones.
“Terminus” marks an evolution in Lotura’s sound, broadening their reach within the alternative metal spectrum. The song strikes a balance between intense, relentless rhythms driven by heavy drums, bass, and guitar, and moments of melodic relief offered by synth layers and vocal harmonies, especially noticeable in the choruses.
Lyrically, the song captures the haunting inner struggle of confronting personal darkness, the fear of letting that darkness spread and destroy the good around you. Sung in Basque, “Terminus” delivers a poignant and honest narrative about the battle to hold on despite the weight of failure, despair, and growing hatred within.
Composed by Andoni Ugalde, Pablo Bueno, Iker Aginaga, and Sebas Limongi, arranged by Andoni Ugalde and Gorka Dresbach, and produced by Gorka Dresbach, the track is masterfully polished by Ted Jensen.
With "Terminus", Lotura offers not just a song but an emotional experience, a candid reflection on the fragility of the human mind and the relentless fight to find reasons to rise again.
