The wait is over: French cinematic progressive metallers Spheres unveil Dyson, out now worldwide via Art Gates Records. Darker, heavier and built to pull you deeper with every listen, the album marks the culmination of a cosmic trilogy—and a bold leap forward for the band.
Following Iono and Helios, Dyson moves beyond Earth’s atmosphere towards the vast possibilities of a hypothetical megastructure. Intricate progressive arrangements, cinematic scope and unpredictable melodies orbit a heavier core, creating a record as concerned with humanity’s inner contradictions as with the universe beyond it.
The journey towards release has unfolded through Virtual Prison, We Are Not Alone and Drive Me To The Dawn. Warmly received by metal and progressive audiences alike, these singles have steadily built anticipation, opening successive windows into the album’s world. Now, those glimpses become part of a complete listening experience: the invitation is to go further, connect the pieces and discover Dyson in full.
Produced by Jonathan Lino and recorded at JL Studio in Montreuil, France, the album was mixed by Chris Edrich (Devin Townsend, TesseracT, Leprous) and mastered by Pierrick Noel, bringing definition to its shifting dynamics and layered arrangements.
French artist Julien Grelet returns to complete the visual trilogy, creating artwork that extends the album’s universe and its exploration of humanity’s evolution.
With Dyson, Spheres bring their trilogy to its destination while pushing their sound into new territory. Available now via Art Gates Records, this is an album to immerse yourself in—turn up the volume and enter its gravitational field.
