DISTANT PAST

Distant Past are a heavy metal band that shines with US metal and NWOBHM elements. The current album "Solaris" received outstanding reviews in scene magazines (Deaf Forever, Rock Hard DE and IT) and in fanzines from all over the world.

Formed from the remnants of a studio project, Distant Past is now forging ahead with renewed vigour, determined to awaken and ignite a passion for true heavy metal. Fuelled by a deep-rooted love for the genre, they bring a fresh energy to the scene, eager to unite fans with their powerful sound and unwavering commitment.

Like their influences from the NWOBHM era, such as the immortal Iron Maiden and the mighty Judas Priest, they are storytellers, with plenty of melody and great choruses. Their goal is to spread the word of classic metal gospel to all willing metalheads around the world. Their music is a blend of powerful riffs, uplifting vocals, and fast pacedsolos that captivate the listener. Each song tells a unique story and transports the audience into a world of fantasy, history and emotion.

Distant Past have been active as a live band since 2021 (previously as a studio project) and have already shared the stage with the following bands: Jag Panzer, Ambush, Elvenpath, Wallop, Hell Patrol, Generation Steel, Emerald, Crashtime and many more.

They have already performed at the following festivals: Fullmetal Osthessen, Mannried Open Air, Elements of Rock, Taunus Metal Festival, Alpenair and Garage Sounds.

The current album has received nothing but positive feedback from the international press.
